YL Nugget #2: Serve

“Even though I am free of the demands and expectations of everyone, I have voluntarily become a servant to any and all in order to reach a wide range of people; religious, non-religious, meticulous moralists, loose living immoralists, the defeated, the demoralized…however, I didn’t take on their way of life, I kept my bearings in Christ… but I entered their world and tried to experience things from their point of view. I’ve become just about every sort of servant there is in my attempts to lead those I meet into a God-saved life. I did all of this because of the Message. I didn’t just want to talk about it; I wanted to be in on it!”

I Corinthians 9:19-27 (The Message)

This passage in 1 Corinthians was a good reminder to me that one of the best ways to reach kids with the gospel is to simply serve them. Please comment below if you have any creative ideas in how we can serve our high school friends. Here are a few to begin the discussion:
-tutoring them in subjects they are struggling in
-teaching them how to do something (play guitar, swing a golf club, change their oil, etc.)
-showing up at their house with breakfast one morning
-praying for them

  1. Substitute teaching!!

  2. We meet a group of our Wyldlife friends at the flag pole right after school and walk to the mcdonalds a block away. It's cool because a lot of their parents don't care where they are after school and this way, they can hang out with us, be safe, and have fun!
